Code of Conduct

BABCP is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all conference delegates and BABCP staff.

All delegates, whether speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, people with personal experience (PPE), BABCP staff members, service providers, and all others are expected to abide by this BABCP Code of Conduct.

This code of conduct applies to all BABCP conferences and events, including the social programmes, and events on public or private platforms.

BABCP has zero-tolerance for any form of discrimination or harassment by delegates or our staff at any BABCP events. If you experience or witness harassment or hear of any incidents of unacceptable behaviour, BABCP asks that you contact them immediately so that appropriate action can be taken.

Unacceptable behaviour is defined as: harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form. Verbal abuse of any delegate, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, BABCP staff member, service provider, or other delegates at an event is unacceptable.

Examples of verbal abuse include, but are not limited to, verbal comments related to the nine protected characteristics including gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, national origin. Disruption of presentations during sessions or at other events organized by BABCP throughout conferences or BABCP events is unacceptable.

Delegates are also expected to consider their use of language and context when discussing sensitive materials or topics – while offense is often not intended, it is important to hold in mind that conferences delegates will represent a range of diverse groups and experiences; due care must be taken in our interactions and communications within the conference setting.

All participants must comply with the instructions of the moderator and any BABCP event staff.

Moderators and chairs are responsible for intervening and/or reporting unacceptable behaviour in any BABCP conference or event.

Presentations, postings, and messages should not contain promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitation for services. BABCP reserves the right to remove such messages and potentially ban sources of those solicitations. Please note, minimal reference to commercial academic or clinical materials is acceptable if relevant to presentation content and does not serve as the primary focus.

Participants should not copy or take screen shots of Q&A or any chat room activity that takes place in a virtual space. BABCP reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the meeting without warning or refund, in response to any incident of unacceptable behaviour. BABCP reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any future BABCP offering, virtually or in person.

By registering, participating, or working at the BABCP conferences or events, delegates have agreed to the terms as outlined in here in the BABCP’s Code of Conduct.
